A late vocation, Lacote was nearly 30 when he decided to become a luthier. He then devoted all his skill, taste, and creativity to crafting guitars. The sonic qualities of his instruments earned him the approval and esteem of virtuoso guitarists residing in Paris during the first half of the 19th century. This success offered Lacote the opportunity for numerous experiments, providing ample chance to give free rein to his inventiveness. This book retraces the life of this luthier and the history of these fruitful collaborations. It showcases the evolution of his work as well as a selection of instruments that came out of his workshop.
