 As foreman in Manuel Ramírez's workshop, he was the one who, in 1912, crafted the famous guitar played for so many years by Andrés Segovia. His instruments were also adopted by other great guitarists of his time, such as Regino Sainz de la Maza, Luise Walker, Sabicas, Ramón Montoya, Niño Ricardo, Celedonio Romero, and Abel Carlevaro.

 Through his admirable work, he brought the sonic beauty of Antonio de Torres' guitars into the 20th century.
